THE WRD: Bio
Will Rhem Jr. is a powerhouse of movement, language, and storytelling. A multidisciplinary artist, educator, and creative visionary, Will weaves dance, choreography, writing, music, and performance into a deeply personal and expansive body of work. Born in Frankfurt, Germany and raised in the Gullah Islands of South Carolina, his roots run deep—and so does his range.
He’s performed on international stages, toured with PHILADANCO!, and danced for music icons like Janet Jackson and J. Balvin. On Broadway, he served as both swing and movement captain in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Will brings that same depth and dynamism into the classroom as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Movement at Columbia University, and as a certified American Ballet Theatre instructor.
Will is also the author of the acclaimed poetry collection Abandoned Gardens Still Grow and the founder of The WRD: The Will Rhem Dream—a creative brand rooted in truth, resilience, and radical expression. He is proudly represented by United Talent Agency (UTA) and continues to build a legacy that honors both his artistry and his ancestors.
